How to choose mine pipeline?

Comparing the actual working conditions of SRTP high-pressure pipeline and UHMWPE wear-resistant pipeline, whether the mine pipeline is good or not, the field construction and operation and maintenance personnel have the most say. Many mines often encounter the problems of pipeline abrasion, water leakage, pipe explosion, pipe plugging and pipe replacement several times a year. To put it bluntly, the pipe is not selected correctly, and the working conditions do not match the products. Mine pipelines are not single. Some sections are high-pressure water conveyance, some are mixed transportation of mud, tailings and gravel, and some are wet underground with acid and alkali water. With only one kind of pipeline, you will definitely lose sight of one thing and another. At present, the most practical and cost-effective collocation method at the site is SRTP high-pressure pipeline +UHMWPE wear-resistant pipeline for partition use. Many old mines are slowly replacing traditional steel pipes. The core reason is simple: the steel pipes are too heavy, the construction is troublesome, and they are easy to rust and corrode. The grinding pulp becomes thinner after half a year, and the cost of replacing pipes, stopping work and maintenance in the later period is too high. Ordinary plastic pipes can't bear high pressure, and they are easy to deform and bulge, so they can't be used at all.

1. SRTP pipeline:

The biggest advantage of SRTP steel wire mesh skeleton pipeline, which is the "main pipeline" for conventional high-pressure transportation in mines, is that it can carry high pressure, is not deformed and is stable. It is made of steel wire mesh skeleton inside and PE material outside, which is equivalent to combining the strength of steel pipe and the anti-corrosion advantages of plastic. SRTP is very suitable for underground water conveyance in mines, circulating water in factories, long-distance water conveyance, and common process water, because there is not a lot of sand erosion, and the main pressure is high and the pipeline is long. The practical experience in the field is very intuitive: 1. The bearing capacity is strong, and the normal high-pressure working conditions in the mine are completely fine, and it is not easy to drum and explode pipes; 2. It is much lighter than steel pipes, which saves trouble in handling, laying pipes and docking, and does not need large equipment; 3. The electric fusion butt joint is adopted, and the underground construction is safer without hot work; 4, no rust, no corrosion, and basically no maintenance. Brief summary: clean water, clean water, circulating water, long-distance stable pressure transportation, SRTP is preferred.

Second, UHMWPE pipeline:

it is specially used to treat tailings, mud and high-wear bad working conditions. If SRTP is a conventional pipeline that is steady and steady, then UHMWPE is a special wear-resistant pipe for high-wear sections of mines. The most expensive place in the mine is slurry discharge, tailings transportation and mixed transportation of sand and gravel slurry. The water is full of fine sand, hard particles and gravel. Under high-speed scouring, ordinary steel pipes and plastic pipes are worn very fast, and they have to be replaced every few months, which greatly delays production. The core advantages of UHMWPE are super wear resistance, no scaling and acid and alkali resistance. Even if high-concentration pulp and tailings are transported for a long time, the pipe wall wear rate is very slow. Moreover, the inner wall is particularly smooth, and it does not hang mud and scale, and it will not be blocked more and more, and the long-term transportation efficiency is very stable. It is much lighter than steel pipe, and it is convenient to move the pipe repeatedly, change the pipeline and shift the construction on site. Although it doesn't focus on ultra-high pressure, it has a longer service life than other pipes under the conditions of medium and low pressure and high wear of mine mud and tailings, which greatly reduces the number of pipe stops and pipe changes, saves labor, costs and does not delay production. Simple summary: UHMWPE shall be used for the sections with large abrasion, sand and gravel, easy blockage and easy abrasion.

Third, the most practical collocation scheme of the mine:

the two kinds of pipes do their own jobs. Many new mines or reformed mines now use "combined pipes" in a unified way, instead of using only one kind of pipe in the whole line: conventional water delivery, circulating water, long-distance pressure-stabilizing pipeline → SRTP pipeline (pressure-maintaining and stability-maintaining) face slurry discharge, tailings transportation, concentrated slurry discharge, high-wear sections → UHMWPE pipeline (wear-resisting and less maintenance) High-pressure sections ensure pressure safety, worn sections ensure durability and worry-free, and the overall operation and maintenance cost is directly reduced.

Abrasion & Silt Resistance Standard clean fluid grade Extremely high (Slow wear, zero scaling & mud hanging)
Jointing Technology Electric fusion butt joint (No hot work) Lightweight, highly movable block layout

Q&A (Field Practical Edition)

Q1: Can a mine only use one kind of pipeline?

A1: Small mines with simple working conditions and all clear water can only use SRTP. However, as long as it involves the transportation of tailings, mud and gravel, SRTP alone is not wear-resistant, and UHMWPE alone is not pressure-resistant. Complex mines are best matched with two kinds, which is the most economical and durable.

Q2: Can UHMWPE be used as a high-pressure water pipe?

A2: Not recommended. Its strength is wear resistance, not high pressure. SRTP for high-pressure water conveyance is more stable, and it is not easy to deform and burst.

Q3: Are the two kinds of pipes troublesome for later maintenance?

A3: Much more worry-free than steel pipes. No rust, slow corrosion and low failure rate. As long as there is no overpressure or violent collision, there is basically no need for frequent maintenance. The biggest saving is to reduce the loss of production due to shutdown and pipe replacement.

Q4: Is it difficult to install on site?

A4: All of them belong to lightweight pipelines, with simple butt joint and no need for on-site hot welding, which is very suitable for underground narrow space construction and higher safety.

Five, summarize

the selection of mine pipelines, don't chase the most expensive, just chase the most suitable. SRTP is selected for high-pressure clean water and long-distance stable pressure transportation, which is stable, durable and reliable under pressure; UHMWPE is selected for tailings slurry and high wear and harsh working conditions, which has the advantages of erosion resistance, no pipe plugging and less maintenance. Reasonable collocation of two kinds of pipes is the most practical scheme to reduce operation and maintenance costs, reduce faults and ensure continuous production in mines.
