Youth Day took on a vibrant, energetic tone for Luoyang Zhengju New Materials’ young team this year, as 50 volunteers traveled to Huangshan Rural School to host a "Healthy Growth Camp" for 300 students. Blending physical activity, wellness education, and the company’s eco-friendly material innovations, the initiative aimed to boost rural children’s health awareness and fitness.
The day kicked off with a "Fitness Check-Up Station", where volunteers—including certified health coaches from the company—used portable equipment to measure students’ height, weight, and flexibility. 28-year-old volunteer Maya Liu explained, "Many rural kids lack regular health monitoring. We’re not just checking numbers; we’re teaching them what their bodies need to grow strong." Nearby, a display showcased Zhengju’s lightweight, shock-absorbent composite mats—used later in the day for exercises—designed to reduce joint strain, a feature the team highlighted as "perfect for active kids."
Next, the "Wellness Workshop" turned the schoolyard into a classroom. Volunteers used colorful charts (printed on the company’s waterproof composite paper) to teach basics like balanced diets, handwashing, and eye care. A skit performed by volunteers, using props made from recycled composite packaging, brought the message to life: two students dressed as "Veggie Heroes" battled "Junk Food Villains," earning cheers from the crowd. "I didn’t know carrots help you see better at night!" said 9-year-old Xiaofang, clutching a take-home wellness guide.
The highlight was the "Fun Sports Day", where students competed in games using Zhengju’s custom-made equipment: skipping ropes with composite handles (durable enough to withstand rough play), badminton rackets with lightweight composite frames, and relay batons made from recycled plastic composites. The "Three-Legged Race" had students laughing as they stumbled toward the finish line on composite mats, while the "Obstacle Course" challenged them to crawl under composite hurdles—each piece labeled with facts about its eco-friendly design.
Zhengju’s team also donated a "Health Corner" to the school: a storage cabinet (crafted from termite-resistant composite wood) stocked with first-aid kits, reusable water bottles made from BPA-free composites, and the sports equipment used during the camp. They pledged to partner with local clinics for quarterly health check-ups and send volunteers monthly to lead fitness sessions.
School principal Mr. Zhang wiped sweat from his brow after joining a relay race: "These kids run and play every day, but today they’re learning how to care for their bodies. That’s a gift that lasts longer than any game." 25-year-old volunteer Leo Chen, catching his breath after a tug-of-war match, added, "Youth Day is about vitality—we wanted to pass that energy on, in a way that matters."
As the camp wrapped up, students posed with their new sports gear, grinning from ear to ear. For Luoyang Zhengju’s youth, this Youth Day wasn’t just about movement—it was about planting seeds of health, resilience, and joy in rural communities, proving that a little effort can help young bodies and minds thrive.
