Youth Day saw Luoyang Zhengju New Materials’ young team launch a "Book Donation & Reading Corner" project, benefiting 800 students across five rural primary schools. Over 150 employees, embodying the May Fourth spirit of knowledge sharing, spent the day building literary spaces and fostering a love for reading.
The initiative kicked off with a massive book drive—employees donated 5,000+ books, from storybooks to science encyclopedias, all carefully selected to match rural students’ needs. Volunteers sorted and labeled them using durable composite tags, resistant to moisture and wear.
Teams then constructed "Reading Corners" in each school’s classroom using the company’s lightweight composite shelves and tables. These structures, designed for easy assembly and long-term use, transformed empty corners into cozy nooks with colorful cushions and reading lamps encased in shatterproof composites.
A highlight was the "Storytelling Marathon", where young employees read aloud to students, using expressive voices and props made from recycled composite materials. "Their stories made me want to read more!" said a 3rd grader.
Each school also received a "Book Care Kit" with composite book covers, repair tools, and guidelines for maintaining the collection. The company pledged annual updates to the libraries, ensuring fresh content for years.
"This project connects our youth’s passion with rural education needs," said 31-year-old coordinator Lisa Wang. CEO David Li added, "Books open worlds—today, we’re helping these students reach for them."
As volunteers left, students waved from their new reading corners, already immersed in stories. For Zhengju’s young team, Youth Day became a celebration of curiosity—proving that shared knowledge builds brighter futures.
