Luoyang Zhengju’s Youth Day: Caring for Rural Elderly with Health Camps
On Youth Day, over 100 young employees from Luoyang Zhengju New Materials traveled to three remote villages to host "Health Check-up Camps" for elderly residents with limited access to medical services. Embracing the May Fourth spirit of compassion and action, the team combined health support with warm companionship.
Volunteers set up temporary clinics using portable medical stations made from the company’s lightweight, durable composites. These stations, easy to assemble and weather-resistant, housed basic medical equipment for blood pressure checks, glucose tests, and vision screenings. Local doctors joined the initiative, providing professional diagnoses and treatment advice.
The team prepared "Health Kits" containing essential medicines, first-aid supplies, and composite water bottles—all packed in waterproof bags. Young staff taught seniors proper medication usage through simple charts printed on tear-resistant composite paper.
A heartfelt activity was "Memory Photo Sessions". Employees took portraits of elderly residents using digital cameras and printed them on durable composite photo frames, preserving moments for those separated from families working in cities. "This photo of me will be sent to my son in Beijing. Thank you, young friends," said 76-year-old Grandma Li.
28-year-old volunteer Clara Zhang shared, "Youth Day means using our energy to care for those in need. Listening to their stories felt as meaningful as the health checks."
